Sending Valentines to Church Members
Outreach Ideas for the
Church
No matter what age you are it is fun to get Valentine's Day Cards!
A great way for the whole church to get involved in sending by making or
filling our Valentines to people in the congregation and to your church
shut-ins…those who are in home or nursing homes and can’t get to church.
Have the younger children make Valentines and draw pictures to send to the
shut-ins or those who are home bound. Everyone loves a picture drawn by a
child!
Have the people of your church bring in the Valentine cards they
would like to give to church members and put them in a large box at the
narthex of the church where everyone enters and leaves the church. A week
before Valentine’s day have some volunteers in the church divide the cards
up and put them in piles by families in the church. Place them on a table
so that as each family leaves they can pick up their Valentine cards that
others have given them. Have the cards for the home bound or shut-ins
delivered to their homes. What a nice jester for everyone to have
some
Valentine’s cards on that special day.
