It's Not Like God's Going
to Send You a Message in Sky-Writing
The pastor really caught my attention today when he was talking about
God guiding us for answers. In the middle of his sermon he mentioned to
be careful on what we focus on and make sure that it is God's plan and
not ours. For example, if my plan is to save for that 100 foot yacht I've
always dreamed of having - I'd better make sure that it's God's will and
not my will. We need to choose but let God guide us for answers. Psalm 16:7 tells us, "I will take delight in how the Lord
counsels me."
He
mentioned wouldn't it be great if God sends us our plans in sky-writing!
Wouldn't that make all our lives easier, knowing exactly what God wants
us to do and where to go. As he mentions this all I can
picture in my head is "SURRENDER DOROTHY" from the great classic, The
Wizard of OZ... But to my surprise, the pastor points out that
it wouldn't be great and God doesn't want to do that for us, because if he
did give us all the answers, as human beings all we would do is focus on
the "plan" and not on Him. We need to make choices but let God guide us for
answers. |
